Prospective coding in symbolic delayed matching: In prospective (or "forward-looking" coding), the organism remembers properties of the correct choice stimulus (in the example shown, remembers the orientation of the correct choice stimulus).  If still active at the time of testing, the code is sufficient to generate correct choice.
